Health Benefits of a Bone Broth Fast
Bone broth is a great choice for a fast because it’s loaded with important macronutrients and micronutrients, including amino acids, which form the proteins glycine, arginine and proline. It also contains vitamins and minerals, collagen, electrolytes, and glucosamine.
All of these things are great for the body and great for healing. They can all help relieve joint pain and body aches as well, which is something I deal with myself. They keep the body strong and helps with detoxification if that is needed, and it often is needed for most people these days. It contains more essential nutrients than doing any other kind of fast which will be easier and better on the body.
The main benefits of consuming bone broth include:
Better immunity against common illnesses or allergies
Reduced symptoms of digestive disorders or digestive issues
Enhanced digestion with fewer cases of bloating, diarrhea, gas, heartburn or constipation
Healthier joints, ligaments and tendons
Younger looking skin due to the collagen it contains
Strong bones
Better intake of important minerals such as calcium, phosphorous, magnesium, and potassium, just to name a few.
Why is bone broth great for the digestive system?
It is one of the best natural sources of collagen, which is a type of protein that is needed to form the tissue that makes up the lining of the GI tract. If the lining of your GI tract is damaged in any way, often caused by poor diet and processed foods, you want the collagen that bone broth contains in order to heal the damage. Collagen protects and soothes the lining of the digestive tract and can aid in healing the digestive system of many ailments for this reason. When collagen breaks down, gelatin is formed, which has been found to help people dealing with food allergies and other food sensitivities, such as having difficulty digesting cows’ milk or gluten. The amino acids in the bone broth promotes probiotic balance and growth, which helps to break down proteins, decreases leaky gut syndrome, aids the symptoms of autoimmune disorders, and more.
This is why I chose bone broth to use for fasting, and to keep drinking it regularly even after the fast is over to help keep everything good and healthy inside. Our insides are so much more important then people realize and taking care of them will help you immensely along the way and doing a bone broth fast and keeping bone broth in your daily consumption is a great way to do that.
Bone broth contains all the essential amino acids our bodies need, it also includes many important vitamins and minerals, as well as good fats, making it the most nutrient dense "light food" that can be used for a fast. What I mean by light food is that it is easy for the body to digest and use, it is a low calorie source of protein, and is mild on the body.
