How to make your own mouthwash - Naturally

I have been using natural products as much as possible for the last few years, but I have also started making some of my own. If you have seen posts on my facebook page, I shared a link to a site I found on how to make your own laundry soap and it is the recipe I use to make my own. So here today I am going to share with you how I make my own mouthwash. It is simple and easy, and so much better for you and your mouth than store bough varieties.

What you need:

One pint jar with lid

Filtered water

1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide

1 tablespoon baking soda

Peppermint essential oil

Clove essential oil

Put one tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide and one tablespoon of baking soda into the jar. Next add enough water to almost fill it. Leave about an inch at the top without water. Next add essential oils. I use about 20-40 drops of each oil. I personally like to use more peppermint oil, but it is potent and can be a little too much for some people so use your best judgement. Other oils you could try if you desired would be cinnamon, spearmint, and myrrh. All are great for healthy teeth and gums. I also love spearmint oil, but peppermint and clove are my go to oils for mouthwash.

Next put the lid on and shake it up. You can just take a sip right from the jar and swish it in your mouth for at least 60 seconds and spit it out. Or you can take a tablespoon full if you wish to measure it out. Keep in a cool dark place like a medicine cabinet and be sure to shake it up each time you use it since the oils sometimes separate.

Give it a try and see what you think.

Make your own variations using some of the other oils mentioned and see which one you like best.

Let me know how it goes.

Blessings beautiful souls.
