Top 5 Herbs for Pain Relief
Do you struggle to get out the bed in the morning? Does it take all you've got to just be able to get up and move around in the morning because of the pain in your body? I know exactly how this feels, and I also know some great natural ways to help relieve the pain and get moving.
The herbs I am about to share are ones I have used for the last few years since being diagnosed with Lyme Disease and they are the very herbs that make it possible for me to keep going each day. I have finally gotten to a point where I feel like my old self again (some days) and have the energy to get out and do stuff, to really live life again. Since it has been such a blessing to me, I want to share these amazing herbs with you so that you may also have that blessing in your life as well.
Herbs are a great way to relieve pain, especially for those who want to stay away from synthetic chemicals that are often found in today's medicines whether it be over the counter or prescription.
Here is my top list of the best herbs for pain relief:
Turmeric
This herb is found in curry powder and is also known as curcumin in herbal medicine.
Turmeric is a wonderful pain reliever and is great for so many other health benefits as well.
What makes it so great is that it works as a whole body cleanser. It enhances immunity, is loaded with antioxidants, helps prevent cancer, lowers blood pressure, and eases joint pain.
Cat's Claw
This is another herb with many medicinal uses, but works great for chronic pain and inflammation. It has been widely used in multiple forms of arthritis with good success. It also enhances immunity and is loaded with antioxidants which aids in the prevention of degenerative diseases.
White Willow Bark
This herb is what Aspirin is made from. The salicin that the plant contains is the main ingredient that is utilized in the making of Aspirin. Salicin is the active compound in White Willow Bark. So that right there tells you this is for the aid of pain and inflammation. It aids with fevers, pain, inflammation, arthritis, heart attack, and strokes. Similarly to how Aspirin does, but isn't so highly processed like Aspirin is.
Peppermint
Peppermint contains menthol, menthol is an analgesic which aids in pain relief. Menthol is best used topically for pain, but peppermint can be used internally or externally as needed for pain. It helps with colds, coughs, headaches, and infections.
Andrographis
This little known herb is a powerhouse of goodness. It is best used for colds, flu, sinus infections, fevers, pain, inflammation, and urinary tract infections.
For any of you who may be dealing with an autoimmune disease or more specifically Lyme Disease, these herbs are ones I use quite regularly and help me immensely. I highly recommend them all for they not only help with the pain, but also boosts the immune system and cleanses the body of toxins which is what is needed if you have such health issues.
